We’ve all had those moments.
You know you should start the workout, the project, the call but your brain and body feel like they’re stuck in molasses.
Here’s the problem: we think motivation has to come first.
But in reality?
Action creates motivation.
The 30-second trick
Pick one tiny action you can do right now that takes less than 30 seconds.
Open the document.
Put on your shoes.
Fill the water bottle.
Write the first three words.
That’s it.
Why it works:
Your brain hates starting big, but it can’t resist finishing small.
Once you take that first micro-step, your momentum kicks in and suddenly the thing you’ve been avoiding feels less heavy.
Next time motivation is nowhere to be found, don’t wait for it.
Shrink the task. Start small.
Thirty seconds can turn “I can’t” into “I’m already doing it.”
Love it! My brain IS filled with molasses. This little trick will move it!!!
I absolutely LOVE THIS!
What a wonderful idea/gift to receive from my email first thing in the morning.
